Volunteer OPPORTUNITIES

Band parent volunteers are the backbone of our band program.  And volunteering is a lot of fun!  Bookmark this page to access our 2025-2026 CHHS Marching Band Volunteer Opportunities (via SignUpGenius).  You can also use the form below to log your volunteer hours.  If you have any questions, please email [email protected].

Concessions
Be Part of the Heartbeat of Our Band!
Our football game concession stands are the #1 fundraiser for the band—and we need YOUR help to keep this critical revenue flowing! Every dollar earned supports our band students. That’s why every family is asked to work multiple shifts this year. It’s fun, fast-paced, and a great way to connect with other band families while making a huge impact.

Varsity Football Game Concessions – Friday Night Lights + Fundraising!

Join us under the stadium lights at Mustang Panther Stadium and help staff the North and South Concession Stands at Varsity Football games! There’s a job for everyone:
  • Food prep
  • Cashier
  • Drink operator
  • Runner (bringing pre-wrapped items from prep to front)
  • Inventory restock
  • Cleaning crew
Volunteers of all experience levels are welcome! Teens may work in the stands —but must be accompanied by an adult and will be assigned age-appropriate tasks for safety. Be part of the Friday night action and support the band in a BIG way!

JV/Freshman Football Concessions – Help on Thursday Evenings!
Support the band with a more relaxed pace by working the JV/Freshman game concession stand on Thursday nights. These games are held right on the CHHS campus at the practice field and track. You’ll help with:
  • Easy food prep
  • Running food and drinks
  • Restocking and cleanup
  • Operating the register
At least one adult is needed per shift. Like varsity games, youth helpers are welcome with an adult and will be assigned age-appropriate roles. A great option for parents looking to help in a more low-key setting!

Road Crew – The Band’s Mighty Moving Force!
Road Crew - Game Nights - Contact Tony Zavala
Road Crew - Competitions
Calling all strong, energetic helpers! The Road Crew is vital for transporting and moving instruments, percussion equipment, and props for games, stadium rehearsals, and competitions.
This is a physically active, all-hands-on-deck role that includes:
  • Loading/unloading trucks
  • Driving equipment to venues
  • Setting up and moving equipment on/off the field
Must be able to lift, pull, push, and stand for long hours—especially on all-day competition days.
Not just for percussion parents--ALL band parents are encouraged to join the crew.
We are a fun, close-knit team that keeps the show moving—literally!

Chaperones – Ride Along and Cheer On!
Chaperones - Game Nights - Contact Hina Virani
Chaperones - Competitions - Contact - Rose Davis
Be a steady presence and a supportive adult on game and competition days by becoming a Chaperone. Ride the bus with the band and assist directors and students throughout the event. Chaperones:
  • Meet at EPL time (Eat, Pack, Load – usually 4 p.m. for home games)
  • Supervise and support students on the bus and at venues
  • Are needed for home and away games and all-day contests
Adults only. A great way to experience the excitement right alongside the students!

Band Meals – Feed the Band!
Contact - Julie Robertson (Game Days)  and Britney Bouldin (Contest Day Meals)
When you volunteer with Band Meals, you help keep our students fueled and focused. Tasks include:
  • Distributing pre-ordered meals before games and contests
  • Helping manage meal flow so students stay on schedule
This is a great way to help for a short time while making a big difference in their day!

Laundry Crew & Uniform Helpers – Keep the Band Looking Sharp!Contact - Linda Jacobo
Behind every crisp, clean uniform is a team of dedicated volunteers who:
  • Assist with uniform fittings
  • Handle laundry duties between performances
  • Do basic mending and sewing
  • Help organize and redistribute clean uniforms
Whether you can sew or just fold with love, there’s a place for you on this team. Let’s make sure every student takes the field looking their best!

Volunteer Background Check
IMPORTANT: Volunteer Requirement – Help Keep Our Band Safe and Strong!
The safety of our students is our top priority. That’s why all adult volunteers are required to complete a Volunteer Background Authorization Form and review the Volunteer Handbook before helping out.
  • This quick and simple process helps ensure a safe and supportive environment for everyone involved.
  • Note: Volunteers must reapply each school year—so even returning volunteers will need to submit a new form.
By completing this step, you’re joining a team of trusted adults who make band events both fun and safe for our amazing students. Thank you for being part of our supportive band family!
